ACCC's 9th President: Sheri Pastor

Sherilyn Pastor has taken the helm as the ninth president of the American College of Coverage Counsel (ACCC). Sheri chairs the Insurance Recovery, Litigation & Counseling Group at McCarter & English, representing corporate policyholders.

Sheri, who assumed the presidency in our May 7 virtual meeting because of the COVID-19 crisis, said that although the pandemic has presented many dark sides, it also offers a chance to reflect on what we value and to build on that value. During her presidency, she looks forward to expanding the ACCC’s education programs for judges, arbitrators and mediators; increasing diversity among the membership; and, adjusting the ACCC’s offerings to adapt to the new realities of the pandemic.

“One of my important goals for this year is to offer complimentary training from the ACCC’s insurance experts,” said Sheri. “We can help judges, arbitrators and mediators with insurance law from a neutral perspective because we have both policyholder and insurance company defense perspectives; we can design programs suited to their needs, which will make them more effective in handling insurance-related coverage disputes and underlying litigation implicating coverage.”

2020 Annual Meeting

We are disappointed to announce the cancellation of the ACCC Annual Conference that had been scheduled for September 9-11 in Chicago, IL. Even with the anticipated "opening up" of Illinois over the next few months, we would not have been able to have more than 50 people at the meeting, which just would not have been compatible with our needs and expectations for this event. Happily, we have been able to cancel our agreement with the Chicago Athletic Association without any financial penalty to the ACCC.

We have a great lineup of speakers and content and the planning committee is looking at options for delivering the content that we already have in a virtual setting. We appreciate your patience as we work out the details and will communicate about an alternate schedule and registration fees as well.
