ACCC COVID-19 Law School Webinars Resume in November!

After our successful webinar launch with the Boston College Law School last July, we took a break to let the litigation and case law catch up with. And has it ever!

In November, we resume our programming with a November 12 program in conjunction with the University of Connecticut Law School and a November 17 webinar through the University of California-Hastings College of the Law in San Francisco.

UC-HASTINGS:  November 173:00-4:30 pm Eastern/12:00-1:30 pm Pacific

The week following our first presentation, our College will present an entirely different program from the perspective of the West Coast. The November 17 program, which has been organized by Immediate Past ACCC President Michael Aylward and Honorary Fellow Leo Martinez, the Albert Abramson Professor of Law at UC-Hastings, will focus on the legal theories and defenses to first party property insurance claims that have emerged in the dozens of rulings handed down by state and federal courts since we first examined these claims back in July. While the trend in the early decisions has been strongly in favor of insurers, several recent rulings have given renewed hope to policyholders; the final outcome of these disputes is far from certain. This program will examine the evolution of the COVID-19 insurance litigation since the first DJ was filed last March, public perceptions of the insurance issues and an in-depth discussion of the recent case law analyzing the issue of "direct physical loss" and various virus and micro-organism exclusions. See the expanded webinar agenda here.
