Within the span of a few weeks, the novel Coronavirus has upended our personal and professional lives. Financial markets are in turmoil, bars and restaurants are shuttered, major sporting events and conferences have been cancelled and many of us are now working from home. The phone lines are already buzzing with questions from clients with respect to what their rights and obligations are with respect to business interruption and contingent business interruption claims, event cancellation and other losses that businesses are suffering.

In an effort to help ACCC Fellows cope with these claims and provide useful guidance to their clients, the College has scheduled a special pop up call for 4:00 pm ET on Thursday, March 19, 2020. Steve Goldman (Robinson & Cole); Hugh Lumpkin (Reed Smith), and Rick Hammond (Hepler Broom) will discuss the range of claims that could be presented to first party insurers and the policy terms that are likely to create or preclude coverage for these claims.
