In this session, we address the origins of the BIPA statute, the states that have adopted identical or similar privacy laws, the exposures they bring, and the coverage issues arising from the suits brought pursuant to these statues.  We will focus on the growth of these lawsuits nationally, as states adopt similar laws, areas of disputes between policy holders and insurers, decisions resolving these disputes to date, and what coverage counsel and their clients can expect in states that have not yet adopted BIPA statutes, but are considering so doing.
